In many classes, each student must reach an acceptable level of achievement
on every assigned task (usually a 70% achievement level) or the student simply is not done and works with the instructor to
understand the concepts before moving on.
Projects
and assessments must be performed at an acceptable level before that student can move on to the next topic, otherwise that
grade is considered incomplete. In situations where the expectation is not met, more time and reteaching in a different manner
takes place. Ed-Co staff work to move the students along while using the students' learning styles, ability levels and
interests.
Using the ABC-Incomplete (ABCI) approach has worked extremely well in holding kids accountable for
their own learning. It allows students to have extra time if needed, and additional reteaching of the material ensures that
students have the knowledge necessary to do well at the next level.
